Don't Let
Termites Eat You Out of House and Home...

We Offer Eco-Friendly Solutions Minimizing exposure of humans and animals to
pesticides as well as increasing effectiveness of
control is now possible with the use of dusts, baits
and exterior treatments. Since a vast majority
of insects are unable to sustain themselves inside a
dwelling for very long, applying harmful pesticides
to the interior of a home is illogical. Of the
small spectrum of insects that can sustain
themselves inside a dwelling, most use a small
percentage of the population (foragers) to go out
and bring food back to the colony. A spray
program can only provide limited control of a
percentage of foragers. The colony continues
to produce new foragers making this method of pest
control inefficient.
Effective pest control would be the elimination of
all harborage or living areas using materials with a
very long residual (or length of action/control) and
least toxic to humans and pets. Borid, an
insecticide dust, is a perfect solution.
Applying this in all accessible voids, plumbing
areas (inside walls insects badly need water),
switch plates / electrical outlets and attics or
crawlspaces will by itself eliminate up to 90% of
insect pest problems for very long periods of time,
a year or more.
Incorporation of baits, slow acting poisons which
the foragers will bring back to the colony,
regurgitate and share with other colony members is
the most intelligent way to achieve control.
Terro, a sweet ant bait is one good example.
Baits are available for control of most insects, and
when properly chosen and placed, eliminate the need
for the wholesale execution of our living / working
areas with materials already known to be harmful to
us.
An effective program includes dusting, baiting and
some exterior spraying to prevent entry.
Killmaster or Insecta, very long residual materials
(up to a year), can be applied around doors,
windows, cracks and foundation where insects will
attempt entry to the dwelling. After traveling
over either of these materials, insects will not
live long and may be repelled by them as well.
Most sweet feeding ants feed on the excretions of
aphids, scales and white flies feeding on landscape
foliage. Elimination of these pest problems on
landscape plants cuts off their major source of
food. Soaps and oils can be used, as can
systemic insecticides (taken up into the plant), to
eliminate plant pests effectively. Using
organic, soil building / enhancing fertilizers can
cause a slight increase in the alcohol or brix
content in the plant making it distasteful to
insects and will increase the plants immunity to
disease as well.
